Mattworks is a design centric development company serving private clients and investors who are committed to using the value of design for better personal and business outcomes. We bring a range of expertise in building design, site planning, and construction management to lead projects starting with complex permitting processes through construction to occupancy.

We strive for creative solutions to the challenges of rising costs of construction, systems complexity, limited land availability, intensive regulation, and diverse individual and group programmatic needs. We use 20th century Modernism as the theoretical starting point to explore what is possible at our given point in time. Our focus is to enhance the best relationships between buildings and landscapes for meaningful living. We make the most of marginalized sites and incorporate multiple functions into the familiar single family typology including live/work spaces and accessory dwelling units (ADU’s).

MATTWORKS was started in 2004 by Matthew Hall in Concord, MA where we work from our offices built in 2019, pre-pandemic.
